The Friendly Menorca Weather

Anytime your holiday involves lots of time outdoors, the weather will go a long way in determining the success of your trip. With its pristine beaches, quaint harbor towns, and a handful of ancient sites, Menorca is certainly a destination that begs its visitors to be outdoors. Luckily the landscapes and attractions aren’t the only beautiful aspects of the island; the weather is, too. Of course, the conditions depend a great deal on the season, but in general, Menorca weather only adds to its charm.

Imagine taking a holiday and never seeing a trace of sunshine, sitting in your hotel room staring out at a rainy ocean or braving the conditions while hovered under a parka or umbrella. Unfortunately, this could happen – especially in spots like Ireland. But Menorca is different. Because of its mild Mediterranean climate, the island typically spends 300 days each year bathed completely in sun. In fact, it is rare for it to rain at all during the summer months. Save space in your suitcase, and leave your rain gear at home. You will need the extra room to stow your souvenirs!

You can expect that the sunny Menorca weather will be complemented by a perfect holiday climate. The summers feel tropically warm while the winters are mild, and extreme humidity is virtually unheard of. Many accommodations don’t even have heating provisions because it never gets very cold. The average high temperature for the summer months is around 82°F while the nighttime low averages about 65°F. You might carry a jacket with you at night because Menorca is famous for its steady Mediterranean breezes. If you vacation in the winter, pack some warmer clothes. While it hardly ever gets colder than 40°F, the temperatures usually don’t rise out of the 50’s between November and February.

Menorca weather is predictable, and you can rest assured that your holiday will probably not be soured by bad weather. June, July, and August are kindest to beach dwellers and snorkelers while the winter months are tolerable for mountain climbers and sightseers. It is best to schedule your trip so that the weather coincides with your interests, but there really is no bad time to visit Menorca.
