Planning a holiday requires lots of work. By the time you finally get to where you’re going, you’re more than ready to see your preparation pay off. Choosing a destination, finding accommodations, and arranging transportation are critical steps to ensuring yourself the trip of a lifetime, but don’t overlook the importance of scouting out attractions before you leave.
Don’t waste time on your holiday doing something that doesn’t interest you. Check things out online to make sure they are really worth your time. As for the many Menorca attractions, there is truly something for everyone, so scout out the activities that seem tailor-made for you.
There are many different ways for you to see the island. Be creative!
Make your way to Mahon Harbor and take a ride on a glass-bottom boat, which tours the bay and affords unique looks at the stunning coastal caves near Fornells. Back on land, try a Jeep Safari that takes you to secluded beaches and landscapes that you’d otherwise miss. If you’re an animal lover, consider a horseback jaunt with Menorca a Caball. You can ride by the hour or schedule a day-long trip, and provisions are made for inexperienced riders and seasoned horsemen alike.
Speaking of horses, you might rent a bike and ride to Cuitadella or Saint Luis where you can enjoy horse racing. The racetracks are seasonal attractions and are only open from late spring to early fall. If you can’t catch a race, you could spend your time at the S’Hostal quarries in Ciutadella. These sandstone quarries are open to the public and allow a rare glimpse into old-fashioned and modern techniques of rock harvesting. Aside from the educational component, the some of the deeper quarries are visually stunning.
Menorca’s attractions are seemingly limitless. Most of its villages boast shopping opportunities that could fill a day. Historical sites also occupy much of the island. In between all these adventures, you might spend some time taking in the serenity of sandy beaches and blue Mediterranean waters.
