There is no time like the present to think ahead about how to get out of the routine and
the hectic chaos of life by seeking out destinations for your next holiday. If you are just
beginning to make those plans, you should discover what so many others have and go see
The Balearic Islands of Spain.
Located off the Eastern coast of Spain, this archipelago of islands resides in the far end of
the Mediterranean Sea. Comprising the largest of four major islands. you can begin in
Majorca. The capitol, Palma is rich in history dating back to the Roman Empire, and it
has much to offer the tourist who wants to learn about ancient history to the present. You
may also want to visit Ibiza with its summer parties and night clubs attracting large
numbers of fun-loving travelers from around the world.
On the smaller island of Menorca, you can see the prehistoric stone monuments dating back to the time of The Minoans of ancient Crete. Here you can also enjoy the many summer festivals that
introduce you to the classic Mediterranean cuisine and the cultural feasts highlighting its
rich history.
And lastly, come and enjoy the serenity of Formentera, the smallest and
quietest of the four islands. There are many beach resorts to choose from and even some
dedicated to nude bathing. At low tide, you can even wade across a shallow sandbar to a
neighboring island just to the north. A stopping point for many yachts, you can catch a
ride on one that travels regularly between Formentera and Ibiza.
With so many possibilities wrapped up in these four islands, no doubt you will do like so
many of their visitors have done, and you too will want to return again and again. The
islands are easily accessible through regular flights from the mainland of Spain. Whether
you go alone, or as part of a tour group, you will be pleased with the offerings of
transportation within the islands and between the islands for limitless shopping, dining,
entertainment, and lots of beaches to enjoy.
With the year round weather so mild, don’t think that you have to limit your visit to the summer months. You will not be disappointed as long as you plan your coming holiday in The Balearic Islands of Spain.
